An elegant façade encloses the curvaceous eight-storey One Chamberlain Square – the first building delivered at the £700m Paradise scheme in the heart of Birmingham. Designed by Eric Parry Architects, the building responds to its historical and cultural settings. The Grade A building offers 150,000 sq. ft of office space fitted with floor to ceiling glazing, and 22,000 sq. ft of ground floor restaurant and retail uses.
The complex façade incorporates polished precast, antique bronze-framed shop fronts at ground level and extensive glazing with vertical terracotta fins to the upper office accommodation level. Wintech have delivered Façade Consultancy services to see that the façade meets the employer’s performance requirements whilst maintaining the innovative architectural intent.
Wintech provided façade consultancy services on the project; assisting with the delivery of the striking façade, providing specifications, design audits and site surveys and advising on the buildability.
