Wintech is proud to have played a vital role in the ongoing performance and enhancement of 20 Fenchurch Street, affectionately known as the “Walkie Talkie”.
Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, this 160-metre-tall landmark has redefined the City of London skyline with its distinctive curved profile and breathtaking Sky Garden. The tower comprises 32 storeys of Grade A office space, two restaurants, and offers 360-degree panoramic views across the capital.
On behalf of H Properties, our specialist teams have delivered façade and structural engineering services to help ensure the building continues to meet the highest standards of safety and performance. These contributions have included façade performance assessments to address complex design and operational challenges, structural evaluations of critical building elements to ensure long-term integrity under wind, thermal, and live loading conditions, and technical guidance to support compliance with evolving building safety regulations.
Senior Structural Engineer (Associate) and Lead Structural Consultant on the project, Armin Berenjian, takes pride in Wintech’s involvement in the iconic project: “It’s not only an engineering and architectural triumph, but a bold statement of what’s possible when innovation drives every decision. This project reflects Wintech’s commitment to delivering future-proof solutions for some of the world’s most complex and iconic buildings. I’m proud that our technical leadership helped preserve the architectural vision while enhancing the performance and integrity of such a landmark structure.”
