The six residential units making up the Riverlight development were designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners. A façade design and procurement process was developed by Wintech for developers St James Group. The process involved the development of a fully comprehensive façade design supported by structural calculations and thermal modelling by the façade engineering team before presentation to the market for competitive tendering.
The process helps see that fully compliant bids are received, package separation can be implemented in a coordinated manner and overall quality is improved whilst achieving cost savings by the reduction of the risk profile of the project.
The Riverlight development in Battersea is a triumph in architecture and engineering, with the exteriors of the six buildings being one of the most prominent features. The façades of the pavilion towers have been designed to achieve optimal thermal performance and colour has been used to emphasise secondary elements such as steel balconies.
