Ringshall Reservoir in Hertfordshire is a remarkable piece of 19th‑century engineering- we are proud to be supporting its next chapter. Built in 1858 by the Brownlow family of the neighbouring Ashridge Estate, this below‑ground, covered water storage facility originally supplied gravity‑fed water to the hamlet of Ringshall and the village of Little Gaddesden. After its decommissioning in 2004, the reservoir was purchased by our client, Logwood Computing Ltd, in 2026, who is now exploring the site’s architectural potential.

As part of the early-stage assessments, our Geomatic Surveying Team completed a full topographical survey of the reservoir land and access road, alongside a laser‑scanned measured building survey of the underground storage tank to produce an accurate and highly detailed floor plan. The team also created an immersive Matterport virtual tour to help illustrate the structure’s form and condition.

By combining accurate surveying with innovative digital tools, our work helps guide the sensitive regeneration of heritage sites like Ringshall Reservoir, ensuring future planning is both informed and inspired.
