Wintech’s Head of Fire Engineering, James Lane, recently had the privilege of presenting at the 6th Building & Fire Safety Forum alongside industry experts Patrick Hayes from the Institute of Structural Engineers and Alex Carter from Cundall.
James guided delegates through the key updates to BS9991 and their impact on building design, highlighting the evolving regulatory landscape.
Reflecting on the experience, James shared: “It was an honour to be part of this select line-up and to explain the key changes to such an incredibly important code of practice.”

The event brought together professionals from across the residential sector, providing a platform for insightful discussions on structural risk assessment, fire safety regulations, and industry best practices.
A big thank you to Darren Hicks, Health & Safety Director at iQ Student Accommodation, for hosting such a valuable forum.
