Celebrating success: Ahmet Biler recieves prestigious award

Congratulations to Dr Ahmet Biler, Principal Façade Engineer, on receiving the Young Scientist of the Year Award in Ankara last month.
Ahmet was recognised for his PhD thesis, “Real-Time Experimental Data-Based Method for Assessing the Impact of Glazed Curtain Walls with Trickle Vents on Indoor Environmental Quality”, which was awarded Istanbul Technical University’s most successful doctoral thesis of 2024.
The research involved extensive experimental testing and data analysis, with the added challenge of coordinating live testing during the Covid period. Part of the work was also carried out during Ahmet’s time as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Nottingham, where the resulting publication has been read more than 20,000 times and cited over 35 times.
What sets this work apart is its ability to bridge rigorous academic research with practical industry insight, ensuring the findings are both scientifically robust and relevant.
