How early is early enough when it comes to reducing whole life carbon?
At Wintech, we’ve seen first-hand that the biggest opportunities to influence carbon outcomes happen long before detailed design begins.
In this short video, our Sustainability Engineer, Tara Sabri, shares how a truly multidisciplinary approach, bringing together facades, MEP, and structural expertise, allows us to build a more accurate and holistic picture of a building’s carbon impact.
Tara also explains why Stage 2 is such a critical point in the design process. At this stage, key decisions can still be shaped, from optimising glazing ratios and addressing overheating risks to influencing the overall building strategy before key elements are finalised and difficult to change.
By Stage 4, many of these opportunities are already locked in, making carbon reductions far more challenging to achieve.
The message is clear, embedding sustainability early delivers the greatest impact.
