Wintech are pleased to announce that Blocks A and B of First Street South Manchester have reached completion, with works on Blocks C and D ongoing. Featuring a unitised curtain wall with bespoke frit patternation and anodised metal rapid vents, Wintech provided a full set of consultancy services from stage 2 to completion on this high-rise residential scheme in the heart of Manchester.
Quality Director James Emery commented “It has been a pleasure working on this landmark project, towering over Manchester. We understand this was Downing’s largest development to date and their first unitised curtain wall scheme. Through close collaboration with Downing Construction, Simpson Haugh Architects, and Focchi UK Limited, the project has been a resounding success.”
“As with all unitised construction, significant upfront work was required before fabricating the unitised panels for installation on the structure. The bespoke design underwent full independent CWCT weather testing, alongside thorough reviews of all detailing, factory audits, and site inspections.”
